Tips
General Tips
- Keep doors and windows shut
- Keep pollinating plants and bushes away from the house
- Consider wearing wrap around glasses to minimise eye exposure to wind borne pollens
- Remain indoors whenever possible during pollen seasons, on windy days or after thunderstorms
- Pollen counts are generally higher between 6am and midday so try to avoid going outdoors during these times
- Shower after you have been outside and wash clothes thoroughly as pollen collects on clothes and skin
- Use re-circulated air in the car
- To be most effective, antihistamines should be taken before exposure to the allergen so the blockade is already in place when histamine is released. (ref Nosy club module 11)
